Zyvex Performance Materials announces revolutionary new boat utilizing next generation
carbon nanotube-enhanced prepreg.
The 540SE is a technology demonstrator built entirely out of ZPM’s Arovex prepreg. The use of Arovex allows for a boat that is dramatically lighter, uses less fuel, and produces lower emissions.

ZPM’s carbon nanotube functionalization technology increases the mechanical properties of fibers in prepregs. The increased mechanical properties reduce the weight of the structural requirements for a boat hull.
Arovex is a 250°F cure, carbon nanotube strengthened prepreg system suitable for numerous composites applications.
The carbon nanotube enhancement makes Arovex a high strength and high stiffness prepreg system. It also processes as easily as conventional prepregs and has a long out-life for easier handling and processing.
Strengthened with an optimum level of carbon nanotubes for enhanced mechanical properties with a medium tack. 30 day out-life at 72°F, one year at 0°F. Available with most commercial woven fabrics, and a large range of unidirectional fibers.
