Technology Development Manager

Zyvex Performance Materials is looking for a professional, committed leader to champion the product and technology development process from beginning to end. The Technology Development Manager will establish a scalable process for manufacturing products (in-house and/or outsource) and take lab scale processes and convert them with the appropriate economies of scale and cost effective methods for volume production. This position will also focus on quality and process controls to ensure a consistently high quality product both in-house and from our outsourcing partners. Day to day general operation of manufacturing as well as capital equipment expenditures, budgeting and funding allocations, building modifications or upgrades, and evaluating workforce needs are all key responsibilities of this position. This position reports directly to the company president.

Qualified candidates will have a BS in Chemistry, Engineering or Manufacturing from accredited college as well as at least 7 years of experience in Product Development/Manufacturing Management in the chemical, plastics or polymer industry. Experience in taking products through the development phases of research, pilot / prototyping to release to production manufacturing is required. Candidates must be able to demonstrate they have the ability to develop new processes without an existing process in place. Experience working with highly educated and trained workers is required. Lean manufacturing or six sigma training preferred. Travel is required but less than 25%.
